However, I would recommend watching the rest in subbed, if you have caught up to the current point, else you will be in for a long ride waiting for dubbed updates.Press question mark to learn the rest of the keyboard shortcuts Log in sign up User account menu 9 Hunter x Hunter Sub or Dub.I am currently watching the dub and I really like the show, but since they havent finished dubbing every episode yet(there are like 90 episodes that need to be dubbed) I am wondering if I should just watch the rest of the show subbed or if I should just wait and watch on a weekly basis.
Im currently on episode 48. ![]() Continue this thread level 1 5 points 2 years ago edited 2 years ago I love subs. Tried watching a dub (for a different show) and so much was lost. But, there is a lot of emotion and expression that the japanese language and original actors bring to the story. I especially love the sound of Killua calling people stupid. Mariya Ise for her great voice acting. Another plus, nothing sounds cliche to me when spoken in Japanese (since I dont speak the language) so even common lines can sound epic and original. I get to see a world influenced by their cultural perspective. Warching dub kind of feels like I took a trip to Japan and everyones voices and entonations were replaced by Americans. There are some one liners that sounds much better in the subs than the dub, plus its complete. If you can wait a week for an ep, dont switch as you seen the world in the dub, it might sound awkward switching to the sub. But if you are someone who binge-watches like me, Go on with the subs. In HxHs case, id say the quality is about equal, only the sub is way further ahead than the dub is. Characters like Leorio, Kurapika, Hisoka and Chrollo sound better in the dub, but Killua, Gon, And Illumi sound better subbed, so it really just cancels each other out. With the constant hiatuses Togashi has been going on with the manga, you may as well milk the show for all its worth before getting caught up level 1 4 points 2 years ago ask hisoka level 1 7 points 2 years ago The dub is good, but the sub is perfect. Id say switch to sub, especially if you dont wanna wait a week for each episode. For Naruto, I really dislike the subbed, and love the dubbed. But I have no idea yet for HxH cuz I cant find where to watch the dub. Hunter x Hunter is the only anime I prefer the sub for, and I like the dub a lot. I just think the sub is really good level 1 2 points 2 years ago Ill usually always prefer dub over the sub, but if you cant wait, might as well go for the sub. Neither are bad. level 1 4 points 2 years ago As someone who hates dubs, Id always say switch to subs completely, but especially in this case. If youre impatient and not picky about voices, just switch to sub. I plan to rewatch it again in dub once all the dub episodes are released.
